Joseph Hepworth & Son operated between 1864 and 1982. The Next rebrand was then rolled out in February 1982. Expansion was a key focus throughout the 80s. Their meteoric rise was however really shaped across the past decade. This retailer’s landmark achievement was surpassing M&S. They achieved this in 2012 (by market cap) and then in 2014 they managed to overtake in profit. They are today the UK’s largest clothing retailer with annual sales now hitting £4 billion. On the British high street they have 500 outlets and around 200 overseas. The employee count for 2017 was 49,033. Today we’ll be looking at the Next Employee Portal (NEP) that is an innovative system built for workers.
