First Direct Login @ www.firstdirect.com
First Direct was established in 1989 by the Midland Bank who were later acquired by HSBC in 1992. This project has been a successful venture for the banking giant over the years, famed for their top class customer service and tempting offers. There are now 1.35 million customers using the service. This is a web-only venture although you can still take advantage of HSBC’s network. There is an attractive switching bonus with the 1st Account. This is paid as a top-up of £100 after 3 months assuming that you have paid in £1000 over the period. This account includes a £250 interest-free overdraft. If you choose to leave after 6 months then a £100 goodbye bonus will be provided.
This is now a top 10 banking choice in the UK. Just creeping behind their Alexa rank is Tesco who will no doubt be seen as a key competitor. Bank of Scotland and TSB lie ahead of them. Of these, BOS could be catched, but they may struggle with TSB. They have excellent deals including 3% interest (£1500 cap) on their current account plus their personal loan at 2.8%. The best loan rate here in comparison is 3.3%, but you can get an improved deal for smaller sums. For instance, for £1000 per year they ask for 18.9% rather than TSB’s 27.9%. Just to add that their loans are for existing customers only.
The First Direct login is built within www.firstdirect.com where their products are pitched. On sign in the portal will pop out at you on a specific long URL. Around 870,000 customers use their internet banking on a regular basis and that there are over 103 million logins undertaken each year. This can be applied for within internet banking, but for a balance check, early settlement etc you’ll need to call them. Their award winning customer service team is available 24/7. The noted lines to reach their team is 0345 600 2424 (new) and 0345 610 0100 (existing).
