About:

NatWest Login (NWOLB)NatWest (full name National Westminster Bank) was formed back in the year 1968. This was through a merge with their origins dating back much further that traces back to 1658 through the Smith’s Bank of Nottingham. The most significant year for them was marked in 2000 when they were acquired by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group in what was the biggest in UK history. This takeover was surprising at the time since BOS and RBS who were battling out for the purchase were smaller (even when combined) factoring assets owned. Despite their size, poor financial performance had caused major internal problems. The acquisition connected them (alongside Ulster Bank) with RBS. They currently have 7.5 million customers.

Competitors:

In the UK, HSBC Holdings is the clear frontrunner and the Lloyds Banking Group follows. There is a closer ongoing battle with Barclays, but outside of the majors there is no doubt that the online banks are squeezing market share from the RBSG. Tesco’s banking offering is certainly noteworthy that was of course a previous joint venture with RBS. Can National Westminster compete moving forward? One of their primary distinctions is their giant branch network of 1600 outlets across the UK. This is important in an era when we are constantly hearing of branch closures across the high street.

A variety of banking products are headed at www.natwest.com. A NatWest login button is displayed here, but on selecting this you are redirected to an external site that is located at www.nwolb.com. NWOLB (Nat West On Line Banking) enables customers to check their balance and statements, initiate standing orders, make third party payments etc. There is an exception to account management when it comes to credit cards. These are managed on a subdomain of the primary website. The credit card point scheme known as YourPoints has also been managed externally. This is located over at www.natwestyourpoints.com. It was however announced in 2015 that this incentive program is to close as a result of caps on interchange fees.
