Utilita Energy Login (Utilita Payments) Review | www.utilitapayments.com

About:

Utilita Energy Login (Utilita Payments)Utilita Energy (usually just branded under the single term) was established by Bill Bullen in 2003. They have since emerged as one of the leading solutions for smart pay as you go energy, now with over 450,000 customers. They install every customer with a free smart meter on a competitive tariff. Through their Price Commitment they aim to beat the Big Six on pre-payment tariffs. For those interested in joining, it usually takes 4 weeks to switch suppliers. They do handle the process fully on your behalf. When sampling a local postcode, they offered the weekly tariffs of Premium E7 (£11.45), Premium Energy (£20.25), Smart E7 (£11.47) and Smart Energy (£20.21). These priced are based on average household consumption.

Competitors:

The Big Six include British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Npower, ScottishPower and SSE. These are the obvious main rivals. Most have caught up on the consumer interest of pre-paid that is especially the case with British Gas and E.ON. A key competitor outside of the giants is OVO that was started up by Stephen Fitzpatrick in 2009. There are further sites like Utilita, but it will be important to soak up market share from the Big Six. Utilita’s share is 1%. British Gas commands 23% that follows with SSE (15%), E.ON (14%), EDF (12%), Scottish (11%) and Npower (10%). First Utility are doing well at 3%, but the rest are fighting for scraps. Data via Ofgem (September 2016).

Login:

The primary site is www.utilita.co.uk. Utilita’s login is taken elsewhere although they do link across. For this the switch is made to Utilita Payments at www.utilitapayments.com (sometimes you’ll need to enter HTTPS:// manually). You’ll firstly need to register and can then proceed to top-up with however much you’d like to pay. As well as topping up you’ll be able to check through your payment history. A Utilita top-up through this site makes sense, but you can opt to pay by SMS and they also have a 24/7 automated top-up line on 03452 068 333. There are various other numbers depending on what you’d like to do. For general support you can call 03303 337 441 between Monday and Friday (8am to 8pm) or Saturday to Sunday (8am to 5pm).
